Ecological trails through lush, Atlantic rain-forest, magnificent coastal views, visits to four wild and idyllic beaches with the option of a refreshing dip in a gorgeous waterfall at the end of the day– Could it get any better?

The first walk through the rainforest takes about 30 minutes to arrive at the first beach, Engenhoca; Considered the best surf beach of the lot, with perfect waves, we stay at this beach for 1 hour. We then walk another hour or so over the coastal cliff trail to Hawaizinho beach – an enchanting little beauty, formed by small coves and separated by reefs. Next, the most deserted of all the beaches, Camboinha; a tiny beach covered in coconut palms with a unique grace and peace about it.

After walking for another half hour or so we'll come to the most impressive view point of all - the incredible and seemingly never-ending beach of Itacarézinho, with its 4 km of extension. Excellent waves for surfing, crystal-clear water for swimming and a lovely, scenic restaurant right at the water's edge with Bahian specialty dishes and refreshing drinks and cocktails – perfect for whiling the afternoon away. This restaurant also has fresh-water showers on the beach, so you can rinse off after a day of walking and swimming.

Option: After Itacarézinho beach, there will be time to enjoy a refreshing dip in the Tijuipe Waterfall. An easy, short track leads us to this waterfall which has a height of 4m and width of 15m, with a dazzling, natural fresh-water swimming hole to bath in below.

Transport: Van or car, 30 minutes each way.

Pick-up/Return: 9hrs/ 16hrs.
