We will take you to Taboquinhas located in Itacaré’s countryside, a small village on the riverside of the Rio de Contas. A nice walk througt forest path will take us to the cocoa plantations. Together we will harvest and break the fruits to extract the seeds full of pulp, then we will learn how to extract the delicious “nectar of the gods”, drinking this beverage is a privilege of a few in this world.

We ll keep on going with our objective in showing you step by step how the cocoa seeds are processed to become chocolate. Also you ll have the oportunity to make yourself your own chocolate. On our way througth the plantations we ll learn about the history of the cocoa but also caracteristic and tecnics of this wonderfull culture in its environment in permanent harmony with the atlantic forest. What to take? Hat, sun-cream, mosquito repellent, breathable clothes and walking shoes (perhaps flipflops for afterwards).

Transport: Van or car, one hour each way. We pick you up and drop you back to your pousada.
